Longfellow’s annual Día de Los Muertos is coming, Wednesday, Nov 5th from 5-8 p.m.!
Adult admission is free and the cost per child is $6, which includes a lighted keepsake, crafts, face painting, and a puppet parade.
- Longfellow’s own Ballet Foklorico will be performing along with Aztec dancers and Montgomery school’s mariachi band.
- Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
- And don’t forget to vote for next year’s t-shirt design, artwork done by our current 7th grade class!
Please share this flyer with your friends and family; the event is open to the public and is always a very popular community event.
Volunteers make this event a success, if you would like to help at the event please read the letter from our DDLM volunteer coordinator below. Thank you!
Dear Longfellow Parents,
I am helping to coordinate volunteers for the Día de los Muertos event on Wednesday, November 5. We need volunteers to help out at the check-in table (take money, make change, give kids a light-up keepsake), the craft table (general tidying up and restocking supplies), the cookie table (hand out delicious cookies to kids and make sure the decoration supplies are good), and an ‘art monitor’ (keep an eye on the artwork being displayed in the auditorium). I have created a doodle poll for each where you can sign up for a half-hour slot (feel free to sign up for more than one!). We also need volunteers to setup for the event starting at 1 pm, and volunteers to help break down after the event. There are no signups for those – just arrive anytime (or stay)!
Thank you in advance! Please let me know if you have any questions.
