The Cone Zone

Our goal is to set up a “Cone Zone” on July Street every day* in order to create a safe drop-off environment for our children and to create an efficient way to maximize the number of families unloading students.

Cones are placed on July Street, creating a drop-off area in front of the school starting at 8:40 a.m. Cars can only enter the Cone Zone from Burgener Boulevard, traveling east on July Street. Cars enter the coned area slowly and pull all the way forward. Children exit on the passenger side. Cars then slowly exit the Cone Zone, continuing east towards Cowley Way. For safety and efficiency, there are no left turns allowed onto Deerpark Drive from the Cone Zone.

Keep in mind that you do not have to use the Cone Zone. Families of young students are encouraged to park and walk on to the campus.

*This effort is volunteer operated and will exist as long as we have volunteers willing to help create a safer environment for our students. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Nancy Starr at

Please see these detailed instructions for what to do when you volunteer for the Cone Zone. Thank you!
