As a community service to our parents and families, Los Compadres will be updating and maintaining these Resources as we receive them. The list includes a variety of programs. These resources are independent, community-based and are not run by the district, school or Los Compadres.

  • Every Thursday at 10:30 am – BabySign Storytime
  • For ages 0-2 and their caregivers. Storytime with sign language with storyteller and sign language instructor, Jennifer Duncan
  • Every Friday at 10:30 am – Preschool Storytime: Miss Fran will lead Preschool storytime for Ages 3-5)
  • Every 4th Saturday at 10:30 am – Storytime for all Ages : Miss Barbara leads Storytime, free for all ages, on the 4th Saturday of each month a Nature Storytime at Tecolote Nature Center, 5180 Tecolote Road.

    Education Unlimited® provides academic summer camps & pre-college programs for students entering grades 4-12.
  • Art-for-Kids – Ages 5 & up!An interactive program which develops cultural awareness, music appreciation, small tool skills and color project design and layout.
  • Bilingual Kids Spanish Enrichment ProgramThis program is dedicated to ensure that each and every child learns a foreign language from a native language teacher in a fun and engaging environment incorporating visuals, gestures, music, body movements, games, literature and crafts!   • Civic ~ Dance ~ ArtsCity of San Diego Park and Recreation Department is offering the San Diego Civic Dance Arts Program.  Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, there are a variety of classes for Adults, Children, Teens and Seniors   Class offerings for Fall, Spring and Summer Semesters.   For more information visit:  www.civicdancearts.org or call 619.235.5255.

  • Horsebound at Canyonside StablesHorsebound offers Camps and lessons. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of disciplines – English and Western while enjoying trail rides, bareback, and other just-for-fun activities thrown into the mix which makes for better learning!
  • Mad Science SaturdaysDiscover the fun and excitement of Mad Science Saturdays! All programs are packed with fascinating demonstrations and age-appropriate hands-on experiments. Our experienced and dynamic instructors use inquiry-based learning that engages children in scientific explorations that are so much fun children don’t realize how much they’re learning!
  • Mad Science Camps!Mad Science has fun camp adventures all planned out for your kids.  A combination of hands-on science discovery, outdoor games, and interactive explorations of scientific principles that are sure to make a lasting iimpresssion.
  • Mathnasium
    The Math Learning Center.  Summer Math Curriculum Offerings.  During the summer, manyu students lose 2 to 2.5 months of the math computational skills they aquire during the school year.  At Mathnasium, summer porgrams are all about preventing summer learning loss and helping sutdents to prepare for what lies ahead.   • Mission Bay Sports CampsMission Bay Sportcenter is the largest public Watersports facility in San Diego, providing Southern California with a variety of activities year round.
  • Nott’s Forest Football Club  AA, AAA & Premier US-US 14 Girls and Boys competitive teams of Mesa Soccer Association in San Diego. Boys and Girls ages 4 to 10 Recreational League.
  • Media ArtsYouth Media & Tech workshops and camps.  Youth entering 4th through 9th grade.  Different Sessions explore varied elements.  Students learn about different aspects of media making and create something new everyday. Programs includes demonstrations, creative collaboration, and hands-on projects.
  • Movie Makers Camp @ LEGOLAND®
    Campers who love to build with LEGO® will be givien the task to build a LEGO® movie set and then will create a stop motion animation video using Minifigs on their set.  Camps are for ages 7 – 14 at LEGOLAND® during the weeks of July 8-12 and Jully 15 – 19th.  For more details, click here for flyer.
  • OpenMinds Education ProgramsOpenMinds Education offers classes for youth and adults that encourage creativity, curiosity, and a better understanding of our world community.  They weave life skills into everything they do and their goal is to help each student to stay curious, be creative and better understand themselves and their own individual brilliance.
  • Pacific Youth Soccer League
  • Point Loma String ProjectThe Point Loma String Project is a lab school for Point Loma Nazarene University string majors learning to teach classroom strings. PLNU selected string majors serve as teacher apprentices with master teacher Jane Frey and with project director and PLNU faculty member Dr. Philip Tyler. As teacher apprentices, they will gain valuable experience, confidence, and skills, and will enjoy a distinct advantage in the job marketplace upon graduation.  The project benefits numerous San Diego children as well.
  • RoboTech Camp
    Robotics Camp for ages 7 – 14 for kids to design, build and program robots using LEGO® MINDSTORMS robotics kits under the direction of a dedicated staff.   Camp takes place at LEGOLAND® California from 9 am – 5 pm during the weeeks of July 8 – July 12th and July 15th – July 19th.  For more details see flyer, click here.

     Sally Ride Science Camps encourage girls? interests in science by giving them hands-on science learning and activities in an environment that is designed to be supportive, enriching, and ? most importantly ? fun!
  • theNAT – San Diego Natural History Museum CampsPrograms that are designed to teach and inspire children from Pre-K through 5th grade about the natural world.
